Evernote acquires handwriting application Penultimate

Hot around the heels of raising a $70 million funding round, the most popular note-taking service Evernote is announcing today it has acquired Cacao Box Design, marketers from the iPad handwriting application, Penultimate.

The Penultimate note-taking application presently has integration into Evernote: You are able to send pages you create within the application to some linked Evernote account. It combines with Dropbox exactly the same way.

Evernote Boss Phil Libin explained the application will not be transformed substantially, though integration into Evernote is going to be made tight. “The key factor would be to not break it,” Libin states.
